Innovation Victoria Powers The Next Generation Of AI Companies In Collaboration With NVIDIA
Innovation Victoria today announced a strategic collaboration with NVIDIA to accelerate AI adoption across Victoria, helping local companies compete globally, drive innovation at scale, and capture the economic benefits of the AI revolution.
The collaboration will see NVIDIA support Innovation Victoria through NVIDIA Cloud Partners (NCP), including Australian AI clouds, to help secure compute capacity and unlock new capabilities and resources for AI training and deployment across startups. It will also accelerate AI research and development and provide access to technical expertise and infrastructure.
This will help create the next generation of globally competitive AI businesses, making a meaningful contribution to the Victorian economy and strengthening Victoria’s position as a destination of choice for AI-driven innovation, investment and commercialisation.
Innovation Victoria aims to strengthen Victoria's AI ecosystem by bringing together companies, researchers, investors, industry and government to accelerate innovation, commercialisation and growth. By fostering stronger connections across the ecosystem, Innovation Victoria will help create new opportunities for investment, talent attraction and international partnerships.
Innovation Victoria will also support and facilitate engagement across education, research and industry to help develop the skills, capabilities and entrepreneurial talent needed for an AI-enabled economy. This includes engagement with universities, TAFEs, research institutions and industry leaders to help ensure Victoria's workforce is equipped for future demand.
Background
Artificial intelligence is rapidly becoming a foundational technology across every sector of the economy. Yet the infrastructure required to develop, train and deploy advanced AI systems remains concentrated in a small number of global markets.
For innovators, researchers and companies, access to compute is increasingly as important as access to talent, capital and customers.
The initiative also strengthens Victoria's research commercialisation ecosystem. Victoria produces world-class research and breakthrough technologies, but translating those discoveries into globally scalable businesses often requires access to infrastructure beyond the reach of early-stage ventures.
Innovation Victoria will also work to showcase Victoria as a destination for AI investment and innovation, supporting international engagement, strengthening investor connections and creating new opportunities for Victorian AI companies to access global markets and scale internationally.
By combining Victoria's research strengths, entrepreneurial talent, industry capability and investment ecosystem with access to world-leading AI infrastructure, the initiative creates a platform for the next generation of innovation-led companies to commercialise, grow and scale from Victoria, generating economic value, new industries and high-skilled jobs.
The initiative positions Victoria among a small number of jurisdictions globally taking direct action to strengthen local capability in artificial intelligence and support the development of globally competitive AI businesses.
