Investment Update: Remagine Labs Closes Seed Round
Remagine Labs is the latest Victorian success story to emerge from the University Innovation Platform (UIP), progressing from university-backed innovation into venture-backed growth. Following early support through the platform, the medtech company has secured a seed funding round led by Praxis Precision Medicines, with Innovation Victoria following on its initial UIP investment alongside Monash University.

For millions of people living with chronic conditions, managing medication remains a daily challenge. Conditions such as epilepsy and Parkinson's disease can require medicines to be taken multiple times a day, at the right time and dosage.
Missed doses and fluctuating drug levels can affect treatment outcomes and quality of life, creating an opportunity for new approaches to medicine delivery.
Melbourne-based Remagine Labs is developing a smart wearable patch that delivers medicines through the skin in a controlled and programmable way. The technology could provide an alternative to traditional oral medications, helping deliver more consistent doses while reducing the complexity of treatment for patients and caregivers.
The funding will support the company as it progresses towards first-in-human studies and is a continuation of earlier funding support via the Innovation Victoria University Innovation Program in 2025.
THE PROBLEM
Many medicines for chronic conditions are delivered orally, which can create challenges with adherence and lead to variations in drug levels throughout the day.
For people with epilepsy, missing a dose can increase the risk of a breakthrough seizure. For people with Parkinson's disease, delayed medication can affect mobility and independence.

INNOVATION VICTORIA SUPPORT
Remagine Labs' development demonstrates the value of supporting innovators along the research-to-market pathway.
Through the Innovation Victoria University Innovation Program, Remagine Labs secured $500,000 in early-stage investment in August 2025. This helped build capability, de-risk the technology and progress the venture from proof-of-concept research to functional prototypes and commercial readiness. Innovation Victoria has now also supported the Series Seed round.
The company has stood up a pilot scale manufacturing line at Jumar Bioincubator (supported by Innovation Victoria with a $25 million grant) for the critical part of their solution because they couldn't find a suitable supplier. They spoke with companies in the US, Taiwan, and China and none could meet the product requirements.
The company has also attracted global expertise and networks to Victoria, with Pat Kelly bringing international connections across the semiconductor, investment and entrepreneurship sectors.
Today, Remagine Labs continues to build on Victoria's research capability while pursuing a global opportunity in advanced drug delivery. Its progress shows how partnerships between researchers, universities, investors and industry can help turn research into commercial opportunity.

The funding will support further development of the wearable drug delivery platform as it progresses towards first-in-human studies and, ultimately, commercialisation.
